What's the most unusual complement that you've ever received? I'll have to think about mine...I have lots of them...

Okay: a little backstory- a couple Halloweens ago I cross-dressed, wearing a friend's ballet tutu. Someone told me I filled it out better than she did. I think that ranks as most disturbing, not to mention most unusual.

ok, mine is weird because it wasn't meant to be a complement and I was surprised to be flattered by it: I was having a small gathering of friends which I was calling a party and one of my guests called to ask if there were more or less than twenty people coming. I was thinking afterwards how elegant it would be to hold a twenty person party and how the guest must have thought I was posh or something. I have no idea why I got that impression.

Most gatherings of twenty or more people I've seen are drunk and far from elegant.

Something very strange (yet complementary) happened to me this week.
My best friend asked if I wanted to go and see a comedy show - and his sister was paying.
I thought 'Great! His sister's got him a late Christmas present and I'm lucky enough to benefit!'
This in itself would be complementary in that he'd decided to give ME the spare ticket, and I hurriedly agreed.
Upon further questioning, the plot thickened.
It turned out that I had misinterpreted the invitation and that the tickets were for his sister and I, and that he wouldn't even BE there!
I'm still baffled as to why my friend's sister (whom I have only met 3 times) would fork out for me to accompany her on a potentially very expensive evening, but I shall not force my obsessive cross-examination of the possibilities upon you at this time (mostly because I still haven't figured it out myself yet!)
Needless to say, I feel as if I have been paid a great complement for various reasons (friends trust/company of a beautiful woman/affinity of humours), yet the circumstances leave me with continued bewilderment.
A strange complement indeed, but unresolved thus far.

I work at a living history site in the summer, as I think I've mentioned before. One day I was walking down the stairs into the kitchen when I looked up to see one of my co-workers, a clever and attractive young man, standing still in the middle of the room, staring admiringly at me in my full 1907 costume. In response to my questioning look, he explained, "You look so Edwardian when you come down the stairs." I thought it one of the strangest (and best) compliments I could receive.

I'm sorry to say I can't recall a single compliment I've received

I recently had my hard drive reformatted by a friend who used to work in tech support, and he told me I have the most meticulously organized computer he's ever seen.

I have a new one. At back-to-school night, my favorite teacher told my parents that I "kick ass"
