Also impressed by the clever nursing and hope ur aspirations are realised.
As far as mine go - Although engineering is pretty skilled, fairly paid and easy, I'm not sure I wanna do it forever. I love the trade union work i do and am going to start asking some serious questions about how practical it would be to do it full time. I'm in no rush yet though.
... and since i never like feeling left out: I've never had a boyfriend either!

I've had a boyfriend. But I loves my girlfriend. Though she is batty.
I want to sail the seas, and plunder. Full time. It's a field with plenty of room for advancement.

Nah,it doesn't have any retirement plan or a dental one...although the dental part doesn't seem to bother the pirates...oh and I guess the retirement plan is just being dumped in the ocean,so good on you Beren.

hmmmmm....how much of Ania being vain can you handle? *straight 'A' student (so far. this upcoming grade looks sketchy. might get two 'B's. oh no! lol) *I love acting (and I'm pretty damn good at it, if I do say so myself) *I'm slightly obessed with Shakespeare (I have Hamlet's "to be or not to be" speech memorized) *I love going to Renaissance Faires but have a hard time getting my friends to go with me. They enjoy them too but know I'll keep them there all day if they let me. *I aspire to be a world traveller and sign up for the Peace Corp. at least once *I write fiction and I'm hoping to be published before I'm out of high school because "published author" would look great on college applications *I'd really like to get into some stage combat classes but don't have the time or $ to right now *Most of the time I live only in my own mind but on off days I can be found in California

A literal burial at sea. ![:)](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v347/Hannah22/Fourm/smiley.gif) Ania, I love ren faires too. There was an exquisite one in my hometown, lots of jousting and a huge array of home-forged weapons and armor I could never afford.

but why oh why are there no ren faires in Britain!!??
I'd love to go to one!
the closest thing we have is "Camelot" - a theme park near me. it was fantastic as a kid in the late 80's/early 90's but the place is so run down now. it might have even closed. as well as all the rides, there were shows and people in character and the jousting was fantastic. im sure watching that in the arena was one of the reasons I'm doing stage combat now.
if my current armour project is successful, i might well have a go at some ren traditional stuff. then there's my archery and various conventions i attend... im perfect ren faire material!!
aaaaw. you guys are so lucky.

Well, despite the fact that there's an annual Ren. Faire about an hour away from me, I've never actually been to one. Every year my friends and I agree to go, and either our schedules don't work out or they run out of tickets. But this year, I hope to finally make it!
When I was little, my dad competed in Scottish highland games across the country (caber toss, shot put, hammer throw - events based on Celtic military and farming life). There would always be bagpipers, Scottish dancers, and lots of vendors catering to the Celtic sensibility. Not quite the same as a Ren. Faire, of course, but a similar idea - from what I understand about Ren. Faires, the highland games are a little less campy.
And, Ania - I've got that monologue memorized, too (as well as the entire nunnery scene that follows - both Hamlet's and Ophelia's parts). Hamlet is the greatest use of the English language that I have yet encountered.

I played Lucianus in my highschool's Hamlet.
Now THERE'S a long bit of speaking for a guy thats only in one scene! especially for a guy's first play.

Lomadia, I've been to a few good Celtic fests too, though mine usually incorporated elements like Irish/Scottish rock bands alongside the pipers. And AG, ever heard of the SCA? Society for Creative Anachronism, I believe. Basically a huge group of people who forge their own gear, do ren faires, and recreate medieval battles. I had a music teacher who was deep into it, he once showed us a 30 lb. (15 kg? lol) chainmail shirt he made. BTW: How do you like my karma??? > ![:)](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v347/Hannah22/Fourm/smiley.gif)

You'd be surprised to see how bored someone can be whose life basically consists of World of Warcraft.
Ack, I still have to read your new story. I promise to.

Beren, I think you have forgotten about my story again, lol. I need to check how much is up on Fiction Press. I'm pretty sure it needs updating.

I know Ania, all I can do is apologize for my boorishness. It's not so much forgetting, more of me being sucked into video games and summer lethargy. Also, when I do get down to reading stuff, it always involves me editing a friend's vampire fic. But I can promise to read it in the next week. Don't feel bad...even my favorite books go unread around this time of the year.
