Do you volunteer? Or have you ever volunteered?
Where have you/do you volunteer?
What kind of experience did you have - good, bad, indifferent?

yes..i am on the volunteer list of the humane society..but i haven't done a lot because my time is limited. i love animals and i love it..but i did it with a friend and she didn't like it. i didn't wanna do it alone so i haven't gone back..i hope to some time though. maybe i can get someone else to do it with me..i have also volunteered for a world english/bible school (they teach people english and then teach them about God) but..that was pretty boring to me..i did that a few summers ago.

I do a lot of volunteering. At my church (web master, newletter, toddler teacher (unoffical), PowerPoint creator, and more. In my denominations Board of Church Extension (church planting). My job on there is web site, brochures, flyers, inserts, anything to do with communications. I also volunteer for the Pregnancy Care Centre. It's a non-profit organization helping women and their families in crisis pregnancies. I put together their newsletter. I volunteer my time with forums - I'm manager of a couple as well as own one ![;)](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v347/Hannah22/Fourm/wink.gif) . I really think that's it. My oldest starts school soon so maybe I will be doing more - LOL I thoroughly enjoy it and it really does make you feel good while it helps others. The bonus of volunteering. ![:)](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v347/Hannah22/Fourm/smiley.gif)

I volunteer a lot as well.
Nursing Home - I help out with some of the activities they do. Which is a lot of fun.
I also do Adopt a Pot, 2 times a year we go around town planting flowers in these big round flower pots.
I volunteer Babysitting for our Homeschool group meetings.
I know there is more but...I cannot think of them...still can't...oh well.

I have the coolest volunteer job on earth! During the summer, I volunteer at a living history site. I work at the Victorian house there, and I get to dress in Victorian clothes and basically live like a Victorian person would. Visitors come to the house to learn about life during that time period and tour the house. I cook, sew curtains, dust furniture, cross-stitch, and so on. It's a terrific job, because I learn so much and meet so many nice people, both staff and visitors (I gave a tour in French this summer, which was very cool because there aren't many French tourists in Colorado ![:))](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v347/Hannah22/Fourm/bigsmiley.gif) . Other than that, I volunteer from during the schoolyear at the local soup kitchen, as an altar server at my church, at my friend's animal shelter, and as a reading tutor for young children. I agree that volunteering is a wonderful experience. It's so gratifying to know that you can help someone else, whatever the way. Elen sila lumenn omentielvo, Lomadia

I think the volunteer thing isn't as big here in Iceland as where you guys live. We're actually notorious for working long hours and spending way too little time with our families and loved ones. But I have actually volunteered, some stuff with psychiatric(surely not correctly spelled?) patients, being a nurse it kind of comes my way easily. Haven't done any more but am quite interested in working in Africa in the near future. elanor
