I've read that both the Balrog and the Nazgul were among Morgoth and Sauron's most terrible servants.
Which one do you think is more terrible and why?

I think Balrog because they were Ainur like Saruman, Gandalf, etc. except bad.
Although I do think the Nazgul were scary when they were in the Shire and we really didn't know who they were.

*nods* Thanks for your opinion. It's been real hard trying to determine which one is more terrible! ![:-X](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v347/Hannah22/Fourm/zipped.gif) But I think you're right. The Balrogs are probably worse.

You are forgetting dragons, not like this weak dragon smaug but the dragons that could destroy magic rings, except for the Ring of Power. I think that a Balrog is indeed terrible to face, because it also has a power of enormous evil going out of him, with not a single piece in his mind that good be good. Same goes with the Nazgul, but they are weaker then Balrog's, and Morgoth had perhaps tens or hundreds of them on the last battle with the Valar, and the elves and stuff.

Well, up until this point, I thought Nazgul, but Eru, you made a good point. Ya,... Hm...

Double post, sorry, but ya know, I think that actually the Nazgul were worse, because Gandalf fought a Balrog (even though he almost didn't make it) but was much more reluctant to go one-on-one with a Nazgul.

The dragons could not destroy the rings, it was only thought they could. They probably swallowed the Dwarf rings. Smaug was powerful. He had a diamond coat.
