In the beginning of "The Ring Goes South", Elrond says that he wants to send Pippin back to the Shire to prepare its people for danger. Do you think that this plan could have prevented the devastation we see in "The Scouring of the Shire"? Or was Pippin's role in the War of the Ring more important?

good quistion ![;)](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v347/Hannah22/Fourm/wink.gif) but i think the deeds he did in the war of the ring are stil far more inportant then when he was going back home to warn everyone because when he did no one would believe him thinking he was cranked like bilbo greets Di ![:)](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v347/Hannah22/Fourm/smiley.gif)
