Early one day he left the city he felt was his own,
He left to find Imladris, a place that was unknown.
400 leagues and more, he went upon his way,
Behind him the land he loved faded far away.
'The Ring must go to Mordor' the Council decided.
'Brave and strong you are, your people you have guided'
If this is the will of the council, he said "I will go too"
But His land to save from evil times was all he wanted to do
Days he travelled with Frodo and Isildur's bane
As time went by his hope seemed to wane
A strange gleam now was always in his eyes
Only some could see it, very well disguised.
He meant no evil, he meant no harm
He knew Sauron would soon reach out his arm
Minas Tirith, beautifully shining bright
The power of Mordor would soon quench its light.
They neared Rauros, the company's choice was at hand
Desperatly he tried to get them to his land
Only he could save it and save it he must
He sought to win over Frodo's trust.
Love is blinding, that's what they say
He knew in his heart there was no other way.
He threatened Frodo, he tried to take the Ring
The Ring that would save his people, a precious thing.
Madness took him, after Frodo he fled
Tears sprang in his eyes as he remembered what he said
He saw in his heart the hurtful lie
He cried out to Frodo, time passed by.
Evil passed, with grief he dealed
But Boromit's fate it seemed was sealed
He fought to the end with all of his might
But Boromir was dead before the end of day light.
Misunderstood now mostly he seems
A good life for his people is all he dreamed
A great leader, loving, a helpful hand
On his tower no longer will he stand.
When he started his journey, it could not be thought
Help for his country was all that he sought...
