I would like to dress as a ghost, the cheesy kind Ania mentioned, but down here there are other guys who parade around in white sheets, and quite frankly I don't want to be mistaken for them. If any of you guys from Europe don't get that one, don't worry about it.
Jeez, storm trooper armor. If I had that much dough I'd spring for the Master Chief armor set. My friend and I have a plan for going halves-ies on a set in the future. When we both have jobs. So this Halloween I might do nothing. For the first time.

Well although I didn’t get to see my friend at Halloween, he was helping the guys who made his armour at a stall at a convention in Manchester on Saturday. It looked wicked! I might "invest" in some myself although the guys thought my complexion would set me up nicely as a Jango Fett rather than a trooper.
(non starwars fans can take their fingers out of their ears now)
Highlight of the event for me was in seeing Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (Shaun of the dead) promoting their new film - Hot Fuzz.
Though the most exciting guest for this forum would be Miranda Otto. What an amazing looking lady eh? I wasn't sad/brave (whatever your point of view) enough to speak to her but... wow!
There was also Bruce Spence (the mouth or Sauron) and Craig Parker (Haldir) who I was thinking of telling off for coming to Helm's Deep but it was peter Jackson who made him do it! ;-].
There was also the weasly twins, worf, a couple of dr whos, half the A-team and both the young and original old boba fetts.
A good day for so many reasons!

Sounds awesome, AG! Despite the fact that I'm about as rabid as it gets with regards to both LotR and Harry Potter, I've never been to a convention. My roommate is going to her first this summer, and I'm exceedingly jealous.

It was my first too. I only attended to support my friend but I had such a fantastic day! A geeks dream (though iv never felt as cool as when mixed in with THAT crowd)! There were plenty of folk in costume from LOTR and HP but mostly star wars. Jedi all over the place!
There was a fantastic Théoden, but I remember that all the harry potters were actually ladies. I don’t think im ready for costumes yet but its only a matter of time!
I didn’t buy anything all day but there was so much to see! Id recommend going to anyone.
Anyone in the uk should keep an eye out for the next Collectormania event. They take place in Glasgow and Manchester as far as I can tell.

That sounds like a load of fun - and now I MUST get my significant other to dress as Potter This Halloween I suggested she be an anime catgirl, which she was quite averse to, until an otaku friend (I hadn't known she had any!) heard of it and forced her to... now she knows I always get my way > I've been to other conventions, mostly for videogames and stuff, and once to a fantasy one. I really ought to look out for LotR conventions, maybe they hit Birmingham, Alabama...

I'd like to have my Jango Fett costume sorted in time but the budget's sky-rocketed. $580 for a helmet! tis very nice though...
