I met a girl a couple of days ago who's actual real first name is Arwen. Her middle name is Evenstar. I guess her parents were huge LOTR fans

That's cool ![8-)](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v347/Hannah22/Fourm/cool.gif) and maybe a little bit wierd ![::)](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v347/Hannah22/Fourm/eyeballs.gif) I also wonder how many people will be changing their names to Tolkien/Middle-earth type names.

It is cool and wierd. When I first met her it didn't even register but yesterday I asked her friend about it and that's when she said her middle name was Evenstar. Names like Eowyn and Arwen are kind of cool but what if it was Goldberry? ![:P](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v347/Hannah22/Fourm/tongue.gif)

I have always thought that Elessar sounds a little more feminine, so it might sound okay for a girl.
But I do think Samwise is a neat name for a boy.

Yes, Samwise is cool.
But as well as getting people who are LOTR's fans calling their kids Arwen and Eowyn etc... You'll also get the wierdo people calling there kids, Saraman, Sauron & Gimli...

I'd love to have a hobbit name. Especially Samwise. ![:)](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v347/Hannah22/Fourm/smiley.gif)

I have so much fun scanning the Official Fan Club credits on the Extended Edition DVD for people with Tolkien-inspired names. There are quite a pretty few! I'll have to dig up my list and post it here! Eowyn and Frodo are two of my very favourite names. I don't think I'd ever give one of my children a Tolkien name, but perhaps a middle name.... (mwahahaha- I'm thinking Gorbag or Ugluk perhaps?) Here's a link to a list of baby names from LotR, if anyone's interested (what kind of person names her child Wormtongue?). www.babynames.com/V5/index.php?content=n_lotr&go1=GoElen sila lumenn omentielvo, Lomadia

[shadow=orange,left,300]My friend's cousin is named Eowyn and tha's what I'm going to name my daughter too. I hate common names and love LotR so I thought it would be perfect! I also want to name my son Legolas but my mom thinks people will make fun of him and call him "leg-less" lol maybe Aragorn..I'm not sure.[/shadow]

I call myself elanor on this forum(actually everywhere on the WWW). I love the character of Samwise, and in calling myself elanor I try to honor that. Here in Iceland there are very strict rules regarding names, so I will have a hard time getting Elanor approved, BUT I WILL, and if I ever have a baby girl, that will be her name!! elanor

I know of a few people named Elinor (an I instead of an A) it is English meaning Light. (Jane Austen used the name in her book Sense and Sensibility and the Beatles used the name in their song Elinor Rigby) Just thought that might cheer you up a bit. ![:)](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v347/Hannah22/Fourm/smiley.gif)
