Haerodiel met Lomadia at the table the next morning with a large bag, half of which was food and cooking supplies for the journey.

Walsingham approached the group and rested his kit against the wall before sitting with the company. He looked grave and focused. He was ready to learn the exact details of the expedition. He wanted to be as ready for what was to come as possible before leaving the haven.

Halaheru met the others that morning and set down a heavy bag next to the table. She nodded silently in greeting and sat down.

Elemmire walked down the path to were the group was waiting. The sun shone beautifully that morning. Elemmire unrolled a map on the table and began to speak. "Morning to all of you, I am glad you all have decided to come. Sorry I'm late, i was delayed." She put down her heavy pack and sat down.

They ate mostly in silence, until Haerodie decided to break it. "So, when exacly are we leaving? And, what exacly are we trying to do on this journey?"

Lomadia looked up from her breakfast. "As I remember, the party yesterday set the departure two weeks hence. In the meantime, provisions and supplies were to be procured, and a more definite route decided upon. Perhaps that is what we should do now. I know that Haerodiel and I are far less experienced in journies than the rest of the party. Why do not you travellers choose a route to follow? The ultimate destination for Halaheru and me is Minas Tirith in the South-kingdom. So, which way do you suggest?"

"Well," Halaheru said, pausing for a minute to think, "perhaps that is a decision we ought to make together. I am not easy in my mind about all the routes from here to Minas Tirith, but together, we would do greater in our coming journey to choose the safest places."
She gave a quick glance to everyone and folded her hands, still thinking.

As Haerodiel listened to Lomadia and Halaheru talking about what they were setting out to do, her mind drifted to that... should she tell them? maybe once they set out.

Having made the journey to Minas Tirith many times, Walsingham unfurled a rolled up map he had taken from the library to illustrate his theories. The map was huge and rolled away and fell to the floor at either ends of the long table. In the middle of the table was the north to south path of the Misty Mountains and the Anduin. The map was of such a scale that only the major details could be assessed, but Walsingham still had at hand large pile of charts that illustrated precise paths and hidden passes if they were needed.
“Exactly how secretive are we to be on this journey? There are paths between here and Minas Tirith that only my brethren and I can find. But these passes are long and dangerous. No other sentient creature would we find if we took those routes, but there are forgotten monsters that I could not dream of confronting along the way.”

"We must be very secret on our journey. We must find a way to the Edoras. From there we will need to go over the White Mountains and take the river Morthond. We will go to the Havens of Umbar. My brothers are there, they will help us from there. Now for you two, where exactly are you going?" Elemmire said. "We must find where our paths together end."

Lomadia looked over at Haerodiel. "As I understand it," she said, "not having made any journies that way, the most direct route from here to Minas Tirith follows the Hithaeglir, the Misty Mountains, southward and then turns east at the Gap of Rohan. It then continues along the north slopes of the Ered Nimrais, the White Mountains, to their end at the Anduin. So, I believe that Edoras is the point at which our paths diverge."

"And it will take quite a while to get to even our first destination. Not to speak of our rations," she glanced down at her folded hands in thought, then lifted her head.
"How likely is it, do you say, that we shall encounter friends along the way? Judging from the places I've been, which are only so many, I would say they are slim..."

"In the interest of stealth, might we not be better off crossing the Misty Mountains before embarking south. We would be very visible travelling parallel to the greenway especially if somebody was looking for us. A group of elves (if I get out of sight when passing other people or through settlements) would not be such a strange sight passing east as if to the kingdom of the woodelves. I know the passes over the mountains very well and there is much more cover on the other side. By skirting south by that road, we would pass by Fangorn forrest. No evil creature bar the occasionally disgruntled tree would we meet that way. Then it’s just a skip over the plains to Edoras.”
Walsingham indicated the routes by drawing the groups attention to his map.
“The way I see it, the party has more friends on the other side of the mountains. If the plan goes awry at any point, we have the green elves in Mirkwood to find or Loth Lorien to shelter in. Surely the worst that could happen would be that we end up on the river on our way to Minas Tirith.”

This proposal pleased Lomadia. "Surely, that is the best and safest route. I have travelled the Redhorn Pass several times, and have never experienced difficulty there. The Galadhrim are my kinsfolk; I lived there many years, and my brother lives there still. We would be welcome there, and could take what rest and provisions we might need. "As for the lands south of Lorien, I have not much travelled thither, but you speak of it as though it presented no great danger. That road, I think is best. What do the rest of the party say?"

Halaheru didn't answer straight away. She stared to the East in deep thought and considered the options while taking a sip of her drink thoughtfully.
A soft wind came and blew one of the maps a little. "Well, if what was spoken proves true, perhaps it would be best to take one of the routes south of Lothlorien."
