Keep trying.
What force and strength can not get through, I with a gentle touch can do, and many in the streets would stand, were I not as a friend in hand.
WHAT am I?
Hint - It is a tangible thing. You can touch it, see it, etc.

Ah, good. Well here's an oldie, or at least one I heard long ago. It took a lot of thought to think of the answer. Good luck. Think of words ending in -GRY. Angry and hungry are two of them. There are only three words in the English language. What is the third word? The word is something that everyone uses every day. If you have listened carefully, I have already told you what it is.

You are right, but I was not aware that there was more than one possible answer.

Here are the other 2 solutions:
GRY is an old English word meaning - small or insignificant and we use small things everyday.
It could also mean 'words' which is the 3rd word from the beginning of the riddle.
I will have to think of a riddle and will get back to you soon.

It could also mean 'words' which is the 3rd word from the beginning of the riddle. I will have to think of a riddle and will get back to you soon. You do realize those two solutions don't perfectly fit the riddle, don't you? If it was Gry, the question "what is the third word?" wouldn't make sense, because there are more than 3 words in the english language ending in -gry. And you must see why words doesn't work. You can't just ask "what is the third word?" and not have any reference to the beginning of the riddle. I'm actually suprised you even said these. I thought this riddle was very clever. It takes plenty of logic, and there is only one true answer.
